Steam Iron

A steam iron is a household appliance used to remove wrinkles from clothes using heat and steam. It has a flat metal plate called a soleplate that becomes hot when plugged in. Water stored in its tank is converted into steam to soften fabric fibers. Steam irons make ironing faster and more effective than dry irons. Most steam irons have adjustable temperature controls for different types of fabrics. They also include spray and steam burst functions for stubborn wrinkles. Modern steam irons are lightweight and easy to handle. Some models have non-stick or ceramic-coated soleplates for smooth movement. A steam iron helps keep clothes neat, clean, and presentable.
